Yi Tyng Tan is a lawyer with over 13 years of experience in private international legal practice in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

Most recently, she joined Transcarbon International, Architects of Sustainability, as a Special Consultant on Singapore, also providing support for projects worldwide as needed in her capacity of Senior Consultant on International Legal Transactions. Prior to working as an independent legal consultant, she was counsel at the law firm of Clifford Chance in New York City, where she represented leading financial institutions and companies in a variety of complex finance, capital markets, and corporate transactions. Before joining Clifford Chance, Yi Tyng practiced with the law firm of Wong Partnership in Singapore in its civil litigation and arbitration practice, with a focus on construction law, employment law and commercial disputes. She frequently attended before the Singapore courts for various litigation proceedings.

Yi Tyng is highly skilled in a wide variety of commercial contracts and transaction structures, and she has advised clients on regulatory changes and interacted with United States and European regulatory authorities. Notably, she has advised on transactions involving funds that invest in renewable energy assets and infrastructure loans, and on the debt financing for an operator of hydroelectric plants. She has solid experience in drafting and negotiating documentation such as purchase and security agreements.

Yi Tyng is admitted to practice law as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore (Singapore), a Solicitor of England and Wales (United Kingdom), and as an Attorney and Counsellor at Law of the State of New York (United States of America). She holds a Graduate Diploma in Singapore Law from the National University of Singapore, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom where she was a recipient of the Tetley and Lupton scholarship, a Certificate of Completion for the Postgraduate Practical Course in Law conducted by the Board of Legal Education in Singapore, and a Certificate of Completion of the Munich University Summer Training in European and German Law from the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, LMU Munich (Germany).

Throughout her career, she has lived and practiced law in cities known as global commerce, finance, and transport hubs, –namely Singapore, London, and New York–, and became familiar with their culture and local conditions. In particular, having grown up and worked in Singapore, Yi Tyng has an active network of contacts in both the private and public sectors in Singapore.

She is a national of Singapore, currently resides in the United States, and regularly travels to Singapore. She is a native speaker of English and Mandarin and has basic proficiency in German and French.
