Naveen K. Pawar is an expert in climate change mitigation, low carbon technologies, renewable energy, and industrial energy efficiency with nearly 12 years of experience as an energy and climate change consultant. He has extensive professional work experience in development and implementation of climate change mitigation and energy projects and programs, particularly concerning Clean Technologies, Energy Efficiency, and Renewable Energy.

In addition to serving Transcarbon as a Technical Researcher, Naveen has worked with various development and multilateral organizations, governments and non-governmental entities, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), industries, corporations and cooperative organizations. He has extensive expertise in the assessment of energy efficiency technologies and programs for industries (power generation/transmission/demand and transportation sector) and in conceptualizing and formulating the monitoring & evaluation (M&E) programs and monitoring & verification (M&V) protocols for these projects. Among other assignments, he conducted a study to review and assess the climate change mitigation impact and potential for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) assisted urban infrastructure development projects in India. His professional experience includes working with the Carbon Market Initiative Program of the ADB and with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat as an external project assessor and methodology expert. In particular, he has worked extensively in connection with the cement industry sector, having been involved in the development of the CDM Methodology ACM0005: Increasing the Blend in Cement Production and worked on the development of CDM projects, the registration and issuance of credits for cement plants in India, namely the Optimal Utilization of Clinker project at Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), Dalmiapuram , Tamilnadu, applying version 3 of the said methodology, resulting in 32,658 tons in CO2-equivalent emission reductions per year; and the Optimal Utilization of Clinker project at Shree Cement Limited (SCL), Beawar, Rajasthan resulting in 68,014 tons in CO2-equivalent emission reductions per year.

Naveen holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Energy Management from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidya-laya, Indore, Madhya Pradesh (India) and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyo-giki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (India). He is also certified as Energy Auditor from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Government of India) and Accredited Green Building Professional from the Indian Green Building Council™ (IGBC).

He is a citizen of India, a native Hindi speaker, and fluent in English.
