Imane Khlifate is a civil engineer and entrepreneur with more than 16 years of international experience, including 12 years managing projects in the infrastructure and drilling sectors in Morocco and Mauritania. She has worked as a consultant with North American, African, and Middle Eastern companies to assist them launch or consolidate new ventures in North and Sub-Saharan Africa, and she has a thorough knowledge of the current business and political conditions in the region. Imane has developed a rich network of connections at all levels in the public and private sectors, including contacts that can introduce her to high-level decision makers in the energy sector in Mauritania, the Central African Republic, and Sudan.

Since 2010, Imane has been serving as a Senior Consultant for Transcarbon to develop business and project opportunities in African countries. Among her assignments, she has designed and carried out an exploratory mission for Transcarbon International’s CEO in Mauritania to assess local needs and identify potential private, public, and non-profit clients interested in implementing energy efficiency projects, renewable energy solutions, and low-carbon technologies.

Imane is very interested in social justice and is working actively in women’s empowerment projects, as well as in the construction of social peace through interreligious dialogue. During the last 3 years, while working towards her Post Graduate Degree at the University of Montreal in Canada, she has been focusing on the environmental aspects of energy projects and on the management of catastrophic events, and she conducted multiple studies including an assessment of the impact of hydraulic fracturing on Quebec’s environment.

She holds an engineering degree equivalent to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from the Ecole Hassania des Travaux Publics (EHTP) in Morocco as well as a Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausses of Paris (France). Her complementary training includes a Post Graduate Degree (Diploma of Higher Specialized Studies, or Diplôme d’Etudes Supérieures Spécialisées (D.E.S.S.) in French) from University de Montreal (Canada) in Environmental Health and Management of Catastrophic events.

Imane is a dual national of France and Morocco with permanent residency in Canada and multilingual abilities. She is a native speaker of French and Arabic, also fluent in English.
