We make efforts to serve our clients in the manner that is most consistent with the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights, as we develop our day-to- day activities and business planning. To that effect, we count on CSR, human rights, and public interest law experts among our leadership supporting Transcarbon’s work and advising its clients as appropriate.

We cautiously screen for potential complicity in human rights abuses when selecting our contributors and providers to the extent that it
can be reasonably evident to us, and approach the evaluation of every prospective project with diligent care to ensure that it is aligned with
our mission and vision.

Not only in selecting staff, but also in choosing clients and suppliers, we abide by the universal principle of non-discrimination.

Transcarbon is committed to respecting and making effective freedom of association and labor rights in all stages of its evolution and in all jurisdictions where it operates as an international company.

Our hiring policies mandate for adequate publication and the utmost transparency in the selection processes. Transcarbon is an equal opportunity employer, committed to the principles of gender equality and non-discrimination. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or disability. Our leadership itself embodies our commitment to diversity.

Transcarbon does not employ children or any person subjected to any form of forced and compulsory labor.

We are active advocates and provide support to our private and public interest clients as well as to the community at large, for a precautionary approach to environmental challenges. For example, the Environmental Impact Assessments and carbon footprint analysis we perform for our clients usually present an appropriate context for the practical application of this principle.

At the core of our business and activities is to promote greater environmental responsibility as evidenced in particular by the consultancy, advocacy and capacity building services we provide, our publications, and the participation of our representatives in diverse public events in different parts of the world.

One of our main lines of services is the assistance in the transfer, implementation, and dissemination of environmentally friendly technologies.

The first resolution of Transcarbon’s Board of Directors required us to offset our carbon footprint, which is largely driven by air travel, by purchasing and retiring voluntary emission credits.

We strive to minimize our ecological footprint by reducing our consumption of resources, and reusing or recycling materials whenever possible.

At Transcarbon we are committed to complying with the strictest anti-corruption and transparency best practices, standards and regulations in every country where it has a presence, as well as with the applicable international norms.

Institutionally, we take measures to ensure that we work solely with professionals whose conduct meets the highest ethical standards.

Finally, through our consulting and capacity building services Transcarbon supports and  promotes the development and implementation of best practices concerning climate change risk and environmental impact estimation, management, reporting, and financial accountability.

If among the purposes of your global business is to fully embrace universal principles in order to contribute positively to economies and societies within and across borders (see UN Global Compact) or you are aiming at following recognized guidelines such as those provided by ISO 26000:2010 (International Organization for Standardization [ISO], Social Responsibility), you will definitely benefit from our services.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) “is the continuing commitment by businesses to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as the local community and society at large.” (World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Stakeholder Dialogue on CSR, 1999).
At Transcarbon, we believe that the interests of society are best served by corporations who embrace responsibility for the impact of their activities on employees, customers, consumers, suppliers, communities, shareholders and stakeholders, and the general public, as well as on the environment. In fact, CSR values are an integral part of both our mission and vision and are at the core of the services we provide to our clients in line with the many definitions of the concept, including the one above and the more concise one that describes it as “a concept whereby companies decide voluntarily to contribute to a better society and a cleaner environment” (European Commission Green Paper on Promoting a European Framework for Corporate Social Responsibility, p.4, 2001).

Precisely, we help our clients meet internationally recognized CSR standards by providing customized services to address their environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues within our two main thematic areas of focus.

As our clients expect big picture thinking when we assist them in implementing corporate social responsibility measures, we conduct ourselves within the same mindset. We consider that working on advancing our economic, environmental, and social bottom lines simultaneously, is an imperative for Transcarbon in leading by example. Indeed, we regard sustainable development practices as an essential part of our CSR policies and let the highest ethical and professional standards guide our behavior, always aiming to achieve the utmost consistency between our personal and institutional discourse and actions.

Both the work we do for our clients and our organization responsibly integrate and promote the protection and advancement of People, Planet, and Profit.
Through our work on addressing climate change and environmental degradation by promoting and supporting sustainable development, we help individuals and organizations of all types and sizes implement effective measures and best practices concerning social responsibility.
Here are some concrete examples of how we help our clients strengthen their CSR, in conjunction with our policies and actions, consistent with Transcarbon’s core values and universally recognized CSR principles (see UN Global Compact’s ten principles):
